The Tragedy of Hisashi Ouchi
On September 30, 1999, a horrific accident occurred at the Tokaimura Nuclear Power Plant in Japan. Hisashi Ouchi, a young nuclear technician, while conducting maintenance on a fuel storage facility, was exposed to a fatal dose of radiation. The severity of the accident was immediate and catastrophic. Ouchi's organs began to deteriorate immediately.
